There’s only so much complaining you can do…

at some point you must act.

I’m running for state representative in our 67th district because we need REAL. POSITIVE. CHANGE.

I’ve lived in this area my entire life.  This is home. I grew up in Bradford, work in Coudersport, and live in Port Allegany with my wife and kids.

But it’s not the home I once remembered.  Aside from the occasional bright spot, we’ve mostly been left behind… with less and less economic opportunity for us to grow.

I thought I had it made when I dropped out of college to be a rockstar.

But when reality came crashing down, I put my awful singing voice to much better use.

I found myself working in our dysfunctional healthcare system… pushing for improvements and fighting for co-workers and worker’s rights.  When I got frustrated by the status quo, I didn’t give up.  I returned to school and earned two master’s degrees.  I thought it could help put me in a position to really make a difference.

But just like my plan to be a rockstar… This one hasn’t really panned out yet either.

Turns out – they don’t take too kindly to you when you try to start a union.  I was dead to them. Not being a yes-man hasn’t helped my case either.  Once, I was even told they were going to give me a journal - to keep my thoughts to myself.

But… I carry on.  Fighting the good fight.

And, just as I refused to be silenced back then, we cannot allow our values to be silenced today!  Unity over division – compassion over cruelty – justice over inequality.

There’s only so much complaining you can do.  At some point you must act.  And that’s why I’m in this race…
